The following proposal and itinerary will outline all the major points, as well as providing a specific itinerary for your students visit to Program Details: The proposed travel program is a 16 day program that consists of high quality Home-stays, intensive mandarin classes and fully serviced trips to local tourist attractions. The home stays will be thoroughly screened and selected from a database of families that have young adults with similar interests and professions. Chinese classes will take place for 2 1/2 hours per day from Monday to Friday. Local attractions will be visited in one large group in an event format that includes the host families to maximize cultural exchange. This program is designed for groups of 10 adults. Students should choose flights that have them arriving in Program Goals: 1. To provide a rewarding educational trip to 2. Date / Time Event Name Specific Details Day 1 (Saturday) Arrival and Orientation Session l Students will be greeted at the airport and driven to the Home-stay greeting hall. l Families will welcome the students at the hall for a catered meet and greet event. l Staff will give a presentation on the program for the next 2 weeks as well as discussing etiquette for living in a Chinese family. Day 2 (Sunday) Orientation and Rest Day l A chance for the students to relax and get over any jet-lack from their travel to l Students may have a look around the local area, do shopping, etc. Day 3-7 (Mon-Fri) Intensive Chinese Language Classes l Students will be assessed and divided into two groups of 5 based on language levels. l Students will be in a small language-learning environment being and be taught by professional Chinese language teachers. Day 8 (Saturday) Day Trip to the Great Wall l Students will all meet at the Home-stay meeting hall where they will be put on a bus, together with their host families, and driven to the Great Wall. Day 9 (Sunday) Day Trip to the l Students will meet at l Following lunch the students will be taken on a walking tour of Day 10-14 (Mon-Fri) Intensive Chinese Language Classes l Students will review language they have heard throughout the city so far on this trip. l Continuation of intensive language classes. Day 15 (Saturday) Family Travel Day l Families will host their students and travel to selected scenic spots throughout the city. Itinerary will be decided by the individual families. l *OPTIONAL* Students will be given the option of taking their host families to a nice restaurant in Day 16 (Sunday) Departure l Students and families will meet at the Home-stay greeting hall for the farewell ceremony. l Students will be driven by bus to the airport for departure to their home countries.
