About the University

Brown Mackie College schools offer associate’s degree and diploma programs in health sciences, business, information technology, legal studies, and design technologies. The college become part of the Brown Mackie College system of schools were operated by numerous organizations and eventually were united as a system under the parent company of American Education Centers (AEC), founded in 1993 and headquartered in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky.
 
In 2003, AEC was acquired by Education Management Corporation of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The system of schools was renamed Brown Mackie College in November 2004, and now includes the schools formerly known as Southern Ohio College in Ohio and Kentucky, Asher School of Business in Georgia, Commonwealth Business College in Indiana and Illinois, Michiana College in Indiana, RETS Institute of Technology in Kentucky and Pennsylvania, RETS Medical and Business Institute in Kentucky, and AEC Texas Institute. The Brown Mackie College system of schools has 20 locations in 10 states.
